January 5th is my due date and time is going so quickly I can hardly tolerate it! October 24th we took off a nice little trip to Ohio to visit Tony's family and they threw a mini Jack n Jill Shower for us. I was blessed with a bassinet and a changing table, which is perfect because we need to keep the spare bed in the baby's room since we only have 2 bedrooms. After my mom comes when the baby is born, we will put up the crib, and by then, the baby should be ready for it.
Yesterday we completed the baby's room and started to figure out what we have and what we lack for bringing home our little surprise bundle! I need to get more onesies.... I just don't have enough of those. We have a great start on our diapers and wipes collection as well as sleepers, swaddlers, and bath supplies. Putting the room together was so much fun. It was great to go through everything we got again and it just got us more excited for the baby to get here. (He or she must know I'm talking about him/her because the kicking has been nonstop since I started typing this blog post.) Our room is ocean themed and my mom got us some wonderful peel and stick decals to put on the walls which are super cool. Every time I walk by the room I smile when I peek in there. Right now I have the little bed lap turned on, just because it's all becoming so real. Time is going to pass so quickly just because the holiday's are coming and with that are parties and events every week. I'm 32 weeks and 1 day today, and the magic week is 37 for a safe, full term delivery, and that's only 5 weeks away now. It's crazy because at 8 weeks pregnant is when we first got to see the baby via ultrasound and now we're at the opposite end of all that. It just blows my mind. Ready or no,t here we go!!!!

Getting Ready for Baby!
Its been a while to say the least.... Its October 14th and I'm 28 weeks 1 day pregnant and we are finally starting to get the room ready for our new addition January 5th. Its only about 2.5 months away and I just can not believe it. The time has gone so quickly. I'm really excited for the baby and the more kicks, flips, and movements I feel make it all the more real. We decided to go with an ocean theme for the baby's room and we (I) painted the room "coastal mist". Its a really light blue and it can go either boy or girl, since we are not going to find out what we are having prior to the birth. We have not settled on any names yet, but I'm sure we'll have one ready for each when the time comes.
In about a week and a half we are traveling to Ohio to visit Tony's family! We have been fortunate to see a lot of our family over the course of the year, even with them living in Ohio and New York respectively. For this trip, my parents are going to us out there for the weekend so both families can get to know each other before the grand baby makes its debut. I'm really looking forward to this, its' going to be some nice memories.
Along with painting the baby's room, I decided to keep going and painted our kitchen and hallway as well. Our house is super old, from the 1950's and I really don't think anything has been done to it since it was built. Being that it's a rental we don't want to do too much, but painting is something simple and affordable. I"ll post some before's and afters. Ignore the clutter, I haven't gotten that far yet.

Rejoining the Rest of the World
Hello Friends, Family and Readers,
We are now finally reconnected with society... meaning we finally have cable and internet! A lot has happened since we made our move to Deland. We've painted some rooms of this old house, gotten some newer furniture, oh yea and we also discovered I'm having a baby due January 5, 2014! This has been insane! Life is not slowing down that's for sure. Tony has settled into his newer shop and has been very busy. My job has been very busy as well. Both of the dogs have adjusted to the new place and have no problems sleeping about 15 hours during the day. (oh the life)
Last weekend we took a nice long stroll through our neighborhood and its super quiet the further down the street. This neighborhood is very old, and we had no idea there were so many houses beyond our street. It looks like these streets go to nothing, but they are loaded with housing. We're going to be keeping our eyes open to see if we can find a bigger house to rent. With the baby coming we are going to need the space. The current extra bedroom we have is full of our stuff. I'm not sure how all this will play out, but we'll figure it out, because we always do.
In regards to the baby, I'm 13 weeks today and we've decided we are not going to find out if we're having a boy or a girl early. We want it to be the ultimate surprise. We're both really excited, nervous, and anxiously awaiting this new adventure. We haven't chosen any names yet, but I'm sure we won't have any arguments about it. Tony only has one condition, that if its a boy, the middle name has to be the same as his. So far I've come to the conclusion that choosing a boys name is much harder then a girls. I have a girls name, but nothing for a boy yet. If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment below!
Other than that, stay tuned for updates!

Moving to Deland!!!
This whole journey of this stupid house has gone from promising to complete dissapointment. Our short sale did not go through and our foreclosure did. Although the plan is for me to buy a house, we need to move into a temporary location until we find the right one. Even though I hate the idea of wasting money on rent, I do need to go to work and live and for now renting is our only option. I will say that somewhat of a divine intervention has occurred and a place literally fell into our laps and its an older home (built in the 50's), but the gentlman said that we can keep our dogs and as long as we pay in cash we can move in asap. Tomorrow we will be giving him the cash and getting the keys. I can't wait to take pictures and show you how I will be transforming this old little block house. Its definitely going to be an adjustmeng from our 3 br 1.5 bath house that is newer, but we have to do what works for us now. Having been through this entire process I would strongly urge all of you never to judge anyone who has lost their home who is working and just can't seem to make the payments. The government is all about giving out money to people who won't work, keep having babies, and all out lazy people, but they do not help those that can truly use it. We are those people. We tried to work with the bank and we tried to get assistance however, we are too "wealthy". It's really sad to see how corrupt and unbalanced society is. Those that need the help and those that believe that they are entitled to it.
So now here we are. We are embracing that we have to down size, move into a less than perfect house, and make due with what we have. I am a firm believer that things will work out, because they always do, but for now its all about trying not to get stressed out in having to get all of our stuff over to the new place in a merely two weeks with both of us working full time. I just don't know how I'm going to do it, but I am. It's going to be late nights and lots of coffee!
Here's to embracing this journey.

Late Christmas Present... Urban Decay!
I know I'm a little behind on this item, but I FINALLY got the Urban Decay NAKED pallet. I'm so thrilled with it. The shadows blend so nicely and apply very smoothly. The best part is that it didn't cost me anything because I had a $50 gift card from my job from Christmas that I used to pay for it. Needless to say, I won't be waiting as long to get the NAKED 2 pallet.

Big Changes in Store for 2013....
Greetings all! It's been a couple months since I've posted on this blog, and let's just say there has been A LOT going on in Lindsey's homestead. Christmas was lovely and then January hit and it was as though a rocket was set off in our lives and we had a lot of decisions to make. After a short vacation to New York to visit my family in January, we came home and received notification that we needed to move out of our home by February 21st. It wasn't a huge surprise, but it was still an obstacle to face among operating a business and me working many strange hours at my job. I'll take a moment and explain the house situation.
In 2006 when the economy collapsed, my boyfriend experienced a fallout of his place of employment as well as some other personal challenges. His home was bought at the height of the market and was priced outrageously higher that it should have been, however, that was at the time when HGTV was showing house hunters and flip this house and housing values were off the charts in Florida and California. At the time it didn't matter because he was currently employed at a job where the compensation was going to be appropriate for his home. Well when everything fell apart in the world, the job was gone and he was left with the home, where Fannie Mae wasn't exactly doing what they should have done with that bailout money.... So flash forward to 2012.....
In 2012 we tried to work exclusively with the bank to modify the mortgage. Working with the bank was a joke. They would not return numerous phone calls or emails. The collections agent assigned to us stated that "her voice mail doesn't always work". Not only is that the lamest excuse I've ever heard, but wouldn't you think that having a working voice mail box would be crucial at a bank? Apparently not at this one. Well, after about 6 months of this going back and forth we got nowhere. The bank wouldn't work with us so our last and only option was to let the home go. It was the only option we were left with. In Florida this isn't all that uncommon, its just horrible for your credit score, and you have the possibility of being sued for not paying back your loan. Even with these situations being common in Florida, my boyfriend was still feeling horrible about the whole situation. This was his home for ten years and he is not the type of person who walks away from his obligations. He's always working and works more than the average person. Up and gone by sun up and home after dark to run his business. Even though it wasn't my home on paper, it was my home too because I lived here. Even I felt a sense of failure that there wasn't anything else that we could do.
So, while feeling completely depressed about the whole situation, a miracle happened. Through a job that my boyfriend was doing, he got connected with an amazing Realtor. She heard his story, and said that she could help us by getting a short sale done before our auction date. To make a long story short, she listed our house on a Monday, had 2 people look at it, and sold it on Tuesday. I don't even know how all this came to happen, but it did. We aren't completely out of the woods just yet, as today we are waiting for the final say on the sale, but as far as she can tell, we are going to be okay.
That being said, the next phase of this whole situation is going to be finding a new home. I'm going to be starting the process of becoming a home owner!!! I"m really excited about this endeavor. We are sad to see this place go, but we are even happier to get a new start. Not only are we moving, but the business is going to be moving too. We have so many great things ahead of us in our future, it's just been a really big challenge these past few months. I can feel it in my bones that we have a bright future ahead of us as far as being successful in our personal lives and our business lives. Every single thing that we go through in our lives is just another component on our journey that gives us character and wisdom. We have both learned from our mistakes that we have made along the way and we have grown in so many ways in just a year and 2 months. I moved to Florida in July of 2011 and in just a short period of time I have completely made a life for myself and it feels like I've lived here forever. I miss my friends and family from New York, but I've come to realize that moving here was such a great thing for me and I think they realize that too. At least I hope so... At least everyone can come to Florida and visit and have a place to stay!!!
Well that's all I have for now. Stay tuned for updates on this house journey! I look forward to posting our progress and our story of this process.
