Just got three new Zoya polishes today. They are of course glitters, but two coats and you are good to go. They are buy 2 get 1 at Ulta for a limited time. I love zoya polish.

One chapter ends, another one begins!
Today I turned in my keys to my first grown up apartment here in Florida. On July 4th it will mark a year since I hopped in my little Jeep with my mom and headed down to Florida to try something new. In a little under one years time I have accomplished a lot of things. Initially I moved to Florida to pursue what I thought was a sealed deal to teach. I was totally wrongs. From the start things didn't go at all as planned and I struggled every which way to try and make my teaching career work. It just didn't happen. Luckily, I was able to land another job with the largest credit union in central Florida and I'm extremely grateful for that. The job isn't my dream job, but for being brand new to the state with no prior banking experience, I was hired and this company has potential. By October of 2011 I was settled into my new job and things were going well, but my apartment living was about to make a 180 with some unforeseeable circumstances. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I'm not going to go into details, but lets just say that moving home to New York wasn't out of the question... Eventually November came and went. December came and I was really feeling great. I hosted our branch Christmas party, I was making friends, and Florida was starting to feel more like home. I went to our huge company Christmas party and felt like a million dollars. I was looking forward to a quiet Christmas with 3 days off and couldn't be happier because shortly there after I would be going home. Here's where the best part happens.
I working and it was a couple days before Christmas when a member came to our branch to make a deposit in the DT. He was chit chatting with me and we were talking about Christmas and he asked me if I had any plans to which I shared how I don't and I'm just going to make the best of having a few days off. He said he was going to do the same and wished me a great holiday. Not 15 minutes later, he called our branch and asked me to join him for Christmas if I wanted to since we didn't have any family here. I said sure and thought wow, this is cool. What did I have to lose? He wasn't a complete stranger because I would see him all the time at my job.
Two days later we met up at Chilli's for some drinks and talked for 2 hours straight! The next day he made me dinner at his house. The day after that was Christmas eve so spent the late night eating xmas cookies and watching all the essential Christmas movies. It was so much fun. On Christmas Day he took me out on his boat and we spent the most gorgeous day on the inner coastal waters with dolphins jumping along the boat! It was like something from a movie. We docked at a lighthouse and walked around it reading the various monuments and just looking at everything. He has seen it already, but it was all new to me. Just the same it was great.
Long story short, this man and I have now been together for 6 months and it has been so wonderful. I never thought it would happen for me. I wasn't even looking for someone and he literally showed up at just the right time.
We are now planning a glorious vacation to the Florida Keys in September and as a matter of fact it's already paid off!!! Nothing like looking forward to something and having it all paid for. I don't know what else is in store for us, but I am more than willing to find out. It's funny how you just know who's right for you and who isn't. My advice, if you're constantly unsure, then don't waste your time. He or she is out there and he will come along at just the right moment. I can't wait to write my blog on July 8th when it marks exactly one year that I crossed that Florida state line. I have more things to share at that time. For now, here's a picture of us and the boys... :)

Great Grandmas Glasses
It's funny how you see something in the store and it immediately brings back a vivid memory, to the point where you can even remember the smells that were around you at the time. I saw these glasses with little lemons on them and immediately I thought of my Great Grandmother.
As a child we used to go visit her and as well as my Great Grandfather before he passed on a weekly basis. From a very young age, 3, 4, 5... I can remember going over there and playing in their sun room which was huge! She always had crayons and coloring books for us to use and a little box of toys. Sometimes those visits would seem like ages because my mom would get to talking while drinking cups of hot tea (Great Grandma always had tea) and I would get bored. When it was nice outside, I can remember running through grandmas yard and seeing all the flowers that she had around her house. There wasn't an area of the yard that wasn't groomed whether it be the grass, a bush, or a tree. My Great Grandmother loved flowers. She passed that love on to her daughter (my Grandmother). My mom liked flowers, but with the changing times her priorities were on getting a job and supporting her family, which didn't leave a lot of time for gardening. But, being that gardening was in our genes, my mom and I would buy our flowers from the store and plant them all around the house. We most certainly did not have the time to start them from seeds, but we did always take time to decorate our property and make it look nice. It's interesting how flowers can do so much for a home and a person. Some days I come home from work and it's nice to just look at all the colors in the front yard as well as sit in my back patio and feel the coziness of my plants........
But back to the glasses..... I saw the glasses pictured above and immediately I knew I wanted them. Not only were they super cute, retro, but they helped to bring back thoughts of my childhood. I often think about what my future children will remember of their lives. Will they have fond, vivid memories of their grandparents? Will they be able to appreciate the simplicity of flowers and gardening? Ultimately it will be up to me as a parent, but I sure do hope so.
With that being said, I went ahead and bought some cute white retro plates to go with my retro, nostalgic, cute glasses. I hope my boyfriend doesn't think they are too girlie, regardless I'm keeping them. (I don't think he'll mind though, after all, he's got fish plates and bowls) :)

Summer Polish: Wet N Wild
Nothing says summertime like a great color on your nails. Affordability is key for me at the moment, so when I saw these colors at Wallgreens for buy 2 get one free at 1.99 a piece, I had to do it. These two colors are my favorite. They are a tangerine and a strawberryish color. They look amazing on. The brand it wet n wild and if you can find it at your local drugstore I highly recommend them. Two coats get you a great even finish.

Welcome back!!
Hello everyone!
It's been months since I've posted on this blog. Many many changes have taken place in my life which have led to the neglect of this blog. I hope that within the next few weeks I'll be able to post on a regular basis. I have purchased a few cosmetic items over the past month or so and now that I have internet back in my life I'll be able to give you all some reviews/photos of how they are working. I'm also considering making my blog a little more diverse and share on multiple items instead of just cosmetic items that I have used. So with that, I bid you all a good night and a great finish to the week.
